Maid of Honour – Caroline Powell

‘I don’t think we could have picked a better Maid of Honour although I may eat my words after the hen do (I am not privy to any of the details and given her a free reign on the arrangements) Our friendship has grown through the ages, survived good and bad, it’s scary to think we have been friends for over 30 years! Caroline has been dragged along to every wedding fair, dress fitting, and trip out to the back and beyond whilst we collect all the finer details that we need to make this day special to us and yet she still keeps asking for jobs to do which I hope you all remind her of when she is run ragged on the day!’ – Written by The Bride.

The Best Man – Mark Marsh

‘There was only one reason why I carefully selected Mark as my Best Man, he has been the moral guidance that has got me to this point and also he is arranging the stag do!’ – Written by the Groom.

The Ceremony Host – David Key, Master Trainer of Hypnosis and Trainer of NLP at Auspicium

David Key is quite simply the most dynamic, innovative and sought-after behavioural strategists in the UK. With 28 years of passion, dedication and experience to his name, David’s ever-popular training programmes never fail to produce outstanding results – and ultimately, transform people’s lives!

David’s been a friend of Katrina’s for many years and she has been on many of his courses with life changing results. He has a natural ability to engage an audience. Although this is not his usual type of gig, we were delighted when he accepted our invitation to help us with our ceremony and vows.

We have carefully selected all our suppliers from the small business community, and have only instructed people that we like and trust. Weddings are BIG business, and there are some companies out there that exploit all the emotions that are attached to over inflate their own profit margins. We have by no means penny pinched on our big day but it was important to us to spend money with ethical professionals who have a passion for what they do and do it well.

The Caterers – The Flying Spit is a family run Bedfordshire based business that specialises in marquee hire and outside catering. Steve has been a fantastic support, always on hand to give advice and took time out to understand our vision and put it all together. We met Steve when he was catering at Caroline’s BBQ and he cooked the best Hog Roast we have ever tasted. Nothing goes to waste, even the bones are given to lions at Paradise Wildlife Park!

Fine and Dandy Photography – Although there always has to be an element of traditional wedding poses, we opted for less intrusive photography which will capture the day more naturally, we met Lyndon and Sarah at an alternative wedding fair and instantly clicked 📸 They have a completely different approach to most photographers we met, we have copyright of all the shots so you can all relax put your cameras away and enjoy the day – we will be posting up all the pics on the website and you can have copies of any of them!

The Wedding Rings – We had a very specific idea of what we wanted when it came to choosing the rings, after searching Jewellers and the internet we finally found them at Serendipity Diamonds, based in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, We contacted Mark and arranged to visit. He helped us with the finer details on sizes and pattern, the quote came in cheaper than if we had just ordered direct from the website, so we placed the order and arranged to come back to collect them a few weeks later, this time taking the kids with us, any excuse for a day trip!

The Entertainment

Mark Godfrey –  One of the most versatile male vocalists in London and the South East! Performing hits from the 1940’s to the present day. Having met Music Promoter Mark at a networking event, We initially asked him if he could find a Michael Buble Tribute act, of which he sent over details of 3. At the bottom of the email he dropped in that if we didn’t like any of them that he could always sing, We never even bothered looking at the others and just asked him to send us over a couple of tracks. Not only can he sing, Mark has such a great personality there was no contest!

The Power of Soul – For those of you who grew up in the Eastcote Arms in the early 90’s, these guys often kept us entertained, Andy and I also used to go down the Rising Sun in Sudbury on Date Nights when we first got together where they used to play. Still vibrant on the pub circuit we went to check them out again last year and decided that they would be a great addition to the party – This band have still got it!
